These are haunted locations graciously provided by John Winterbauer.

Springfield High School: Shown here in 1916, the school is built on the site of the old Hutchinson's Cemetery. A little girl, dubbed "Rachel" by students and faculty, has been seen in the hallways and basement of the school for years. Perhaps workers overlooked a few bodies when they moved the cemetery in 1860?

George Brinkerhoff Home: Springfield businessman, George Brinkerhoff, built this magnificant home in 1869 and there are those who say he never left! Whether or not the ghost that is said to haunt the house is George or not; most agree the spirit is a practical joker who seems to take great delight in playing tricks on people working in the building...especially the attic and library.

Loomis House (Carlinville, IL): Built in 1870 by Judge Thaddeus Loomis this grand structure is believed to be haunted by many spirits including Loomis himself. The detailed history of the Loomis House may be found in an article by John Winterbauer here: http://www.prairieghosts.com/loomis.html

The Lake Club: Although destroyed by fire in 1992 this nightclub has become legendary in the annals of Illinois hauntings. Said to have been haunted by the ghost of Albert "Rudy" Cranor, a bartender who committed suicide in the building in 1968; it has been the subject of television programs, newspaper articles and speculation for decades.
